Here's to a Happy Holiday

Ladies-
Thanks for a fun night this past Friday! I really am glad that I have each of you as members of this fab book club!! I really enjoyed the evening and it was great catching up again! I hope the next couple of weeks are full of great friends and family, and a good read or two, of course! Happy Holidays!

Don't forget, our next meeting will be at Jenna's on Sunday, January 10th @ 10am. We'll be discussing Hemingway's Old Man and the Sea.

Also, I will be posting a list of the books given soon...and details about Jenna's Crap Swap when those are figured out.

In the meantime, a few recipes:

beer-cheese dip

2-8oz packages of cream cheese
2-8oz packages of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 of NewCastle Brown Ale (but you can pretty much use whatever stout you want)
1/2 tsp garlic powder

*put in a bowl and cream together...there will still be chunks of cheese when you are finished. and you can serve right away, or put in the fridge for later.

cheesy bacon bites

3 oz cream cheese
2 tbsp chopped onions (I didn't use the other night...nothing good comes from using onions)
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup real bacon pieces
1 pkg crescent rolls

*preheat oven to 350 degrees. combine cream cheese, bacon, onion & pepper in a bowl. seperate crescent rolls into 2 rectangles. pinch seams together. spread cheese mixture on each rectangle. roll up, starting at longest side and seal. cut each roll into 16 slices. place cut side down on pan. bake 15 mins or until golden brown. serve warm.

ok...
