Here is a brief summary of some things we decided upon at our last gathering:
1. Next meeting is Thurs, September 9th @ Meghan's Apt where we'll be discussing Aimee Bender's The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. We talked a little bit about all of us bringing a food that really evoked a particular emotion in ourselves...something to think about...details to come.
2. After Sept., we will be reading the Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick. The discussion of this book will take place on Wed, October 13th at a place to be announced.
3. We also decided to meet early in December as opposed to mid/late November so as not to conflict with Thanksgiving plans, etc. We will be meeting on Friday eve, December 3rd @ Monica's House @7pm to discuss Colum McCann's Let the Great World Spin.
In case you are interested, I emailed Emily at Left Bank Books our upcoming reads. I think that is it for now. Currently, I am reading Gone with the Wind and it is quite a treat.
